Albatross Divers LLC provide a timber pile protection system that eliminates 100% of existing marine borers and protects against further infestation. Our system will dramatically extend the service life of pilings and minimize future repair costs to your dock or structure.
To the naked eye the piling below appeared normal but after removing the marine growth it became evident that marine borers have been devouring this piling.
Marine growth must be removed prior to installation to assure 100% protection. The CaviBlaster is the latest technology in underwater cleaning allowing us to remove growth, without damaging the piling or the environment. Other cleaning methods such as scraping, strip and damage the piling introducing harmful timber fragments into the water.
By using our two part system the pile is encapsulated, thus removing all oxygen from reaching the timber pile. The system kills the marine borers inside the pile and those outside cannot penetrate the barrier. The system also acts as a preservative and eliminates leaching of creosote and/or ACZA into the water extending the life of the piling for years to come!
Don’t trust high-density polyethylene piling wraps alone! They are NOT 100% effective in keeping out water, oxygen and harmful chemicals. Marine borers can continue to live under these wraps damaging the integrity of the pile unseen.
